Life threatening injuries following Tay Township collision

A man is in hospital with life threatening injuries following a two vehicle crash in Tay Township.

On Sunday afternoon Southern Georgian Bay OPP were called to the intersection of Old Fort Road and Highway 12.

Officers found that an eastbound travelling Honda driven by the man and a westbound Kia had collided.

The man was taken to hospital by Simcoe County Paramedics with life threatening injuries and has since been air lifted to a Toronto Hospital by Ornge.

The woman driving the Kia was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident and the intersection will be shut down for the next few hours.

Officials will not be releasing any names or other details at this time.
