Voter turnout was about the same in 2011 as it was during this election. In 2011 the turnout was about 65 per cent and in this election it was 67 per cent. Meanwhile Tony Clement had a much more dominant win against the Liberal candidate in 2011 with a 55 per cent win, while Liberal Cindy Waters was 30 per cent behind. In this election Clement was able to win with 43 per cent of the vote but Liberal Trisha Cowie was not far behind with 38 per cent.
