The child who died in a North Bay hospital did have Influenza A H1N1. Medical Officer of Health for the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit Jim Chirico says based on further testing, the child in question is considered as a death in a laboratory confirmed case of Influenza A H1N1, but the cause of death remains under investigation. On Friday, the Health Unit received a report about the death of a child at the North Bay Regional Health Centre who presented with a flu-like respiratory illness.
