Save the Bala Falls group order to pay legal fees to Muskoka Lakes Township

Following a failed attempt at applying for an injunction against the Township of Muskoka Lakes, SaveTheBalaFalls.com is now being ordered to cover legal fees.  Justice T.M. Wood read the ruling on Tuesday at Bracebridge Court House, saying the website group is expected to pay the township over $29,000.  The application for injunction was dismissed after Wood found no truth to the accusations against the township and Swift River Energy.  Wood says the website group had attempted to shield itself from awarding legal costs to the township claiming the litigation was of public interest.  However, Wood says that the issues brought up were specific to the members of the group and not in the interest of the public in Bala.
