Before you buy that vehicle, ATV or bike, check the number first

If you’re considering buying a car, truck or recreational vehicle second-hand this summer, have it checked out first.  Southern Georgian Bay OPP says you can check serial numbers, licence plates and even Vehicle Identification Numbers for free on the Canadian Police Information Centre website.  The website will tell you whether or not there is a possibility the vehicle you’re about to purchase is stolen.  And if you get a possibly stolen response, you should give police a quick call.  The site works with bicycles as well.
