Police warning of unsafe height of public snowbanks

A message to parents about public snowbanks.

Police are asking parents to discuss the dangers of playing on high snowbanks.

With the amount of snow that has fallen this winter and with more possible this week, the overall height of snowbanks is becoming a threat to our safety.

Regional Commander of the OPP Central Region, Chief Superintendent John Tod is urging drivers to be cautious when backing out of driveways saying if snowbanks cannot be reduced, backing into a driveway may be a safer option.
