The Town of Parry Sound will use Waubeek Street to apply for funding.
At their meeting this week, council discussed a request from staff to consider the rehabilitation of Waubeek Street from Avenue Road to Wood Street the highest priority for the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund.
Councillor Paul Borneman asked Director of Public Works Peter Brown why completing William Street past the current construction isn’t being considered for this funding.
Brown says Waubeek Street has seen significant issues over the past couple of years and has moved up on the priority list.
Council voted in favour of having Waubeek Street considered for the funding and to also have staff submit a proposal to the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund for top up funding for the rehabilitation.
