Local police targeting four main behaviors on roads this holiday weekend

Operation Impact kicks off today in Parry Sound and across the province.

The OPP campaign is an annual traffic safety initiative when Canadian police partners target the four main behaviours that continue to cost the significant loss of life on roads every year.  These are road deaths in which alcohol/drugs, speed, inattentive driving and lack of seat belt use are factors.

West Parry Sound OPP Detachment Commander Staff Sergeant Mike Gordon says the Thanksgiving weekend is a time to be with family and to give thanks for what we have.  We all have to remember to be safe and drive responsibly.

Expect to see members of the West Parry Sound OPP patrolling the roads this weekend and taking part in Operation Impact.
