Police have identified the man who died in an unfortunate turn of events on Highway 400. Orillia OPP was called to a serious collision in the southbound lanes of the highway yesterday morning involving four vehicles that had the highway closed for over seven hours. The investigation revealed that the driver of a southbound van lost control, hit a snow bank and flipped over near Vasey Road in Severn Township. Another driver stopped to help the man in van when a transport truck and trailer tried to stop and jackknifed, hitting the man who was helping and a pickup truck following behind slammed into the tractor trailer. The events lead to the death of 21-year-old Jonathan Antler-Paquette from Victoria Harbour. The driver of the van was taken to hospital but has since been released while two other drivers involved were not injured. Police continue to investigate.
