The women’s march in Washington brought people together from all over the world – including one woman from Parry Sound.

Britanny Mahnke added her voice to the hundreds of thousands marching in Washington the day after the inauguration.

Although they were stuck at the US border for three to four hours crossing the border into the United States, they were allowed into the country.

Mahnke says the march was an entirely positive experience. She says the reason she decided to go to the march in Washington was to stand in solidarity with people with the same beliefs as her.

She also said she wanted to take part in history.
