The newest Syrian Refugee family has made it to Parry Sound.
According to Susan Baxter from Parry Sound Friends of Refugees, the family arrived in town on Thursday.
Parry Sound Friends of Refugees previously said they were told a medical issue would delay the family’s arrival. However, on Thursday morning the organization received a message that the family had landed.
No details on what changed with the alleged medical issue, or what ended the delay have been disclosed.
The family of seven has found a place to live, which they will be moving into on September 1st. Baxter says she’s thankful for the continued community support.
