The Parry Sound Islanders will not be competing in the GMHL this year.
In a facebook post, the local junior hockey team says they will be merging their team with the Seguin Huskies.
Jack Sports Group, the company that runs The Islanders, said that competing with the amount of players on their roster would be irresponsible to player development and safety.
Jack Sports Group runs three teams and only had 63 players signed for the upcoming season.
There are no details if the team will return for the 2018 season.
