Four lost hikers have been found successfully from the Canadian Coast Guard stationed in Britt.
The inshore rescue crew from Britt were on the lookout for four people and their dog somewhere along the Lighthouse trail in Killarney on Tuesday.
The hikers were found at Tar Vat Bay. According to the rescue crew it’s a very rocky area and made for a challenge getting the boat to shore.
All four hikers and their dog were found in good condition and were returned to Killarney.
The inshore rescue boat team is made up of post-secondary students during the summer months. Stephen Pitman, Mollie King and Keith Pettinger are the crew members responsible for rescuing the four lost hikers and their pet.
There are six inshore rescue boat stations run by the Canadian Coast Guard, including the one in Britt for Georgian Bay.
