Parry Sound-Muskoka MP Tony Clement is going to be keeping an eye on the federal government’s spending. Newly elected leader of the Conservative Party, Andrew Scheer, announced his Shadow Cabinet this week and named Clement as the Shadow Cabinet Minister for Public Services and Procurement.
Clement will serve on the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates, which studies the spending of government departments. It also looks at the effectiveness of government operations.
Clement says the Trudeau Liberals has billions of dollars in procurement projects and has racked up debt. He says he looks forward to using his government experience to hold the government accountable to Canadians.
