The Town of Parry Sound is looking for volunteer firefighters.
According to Fire Chief Dave Thompson, Parry Sound is looking for applicants that are committed to the community.
He says there are many pros to being a volunteer firefighter, but there are drawbacks as well. Thompson says he wants applicants to be aware that being a volunteer firefighter means answering calls late at night, and sometimes missing engagements to help those in need of help.
Prior firefighting experience is not required as successful applicants will get trained by the fire department.
Applications and resumes must be received no later than September 22. You can pick up an application at the Parry Sound Fire Department.
