The Royal Bank is shutting down its branch at the Parry Sound Mall.
This development comes nine months after getting the green light from the Town of Parry Sound to move across town to the Oastler Park Shopping Plaza. It also comes around two months after the Ontario Municipal Board approved an amendment to the town’s official plan to allow the bank to move.
Parry Sound’s official plan previously kept banks from opening outside Parry Sound’s downtown business sector.
The branch will officially close on October 20. A temporary branch will be opened at 15 William Street on October 23.
The RBC would not confirm that it would be moving to the Oastler Park Shopping Plaza.
