Parry Sound locals are going to have to wait on a new public water tap.
Town council voted to defeat a proposal for a water tap to be placed on Parry Sound Drive in the lot in front of the YMCA. The tap would have cost the town $50,000.
However, council wants to look at ways of alleviating this extra cost to taxpayers since most of the users of the tap come from outside of the Town of Parry Sound.
Director of Public Works Peter Brown is being asked to look at alternatives for the current water tap system. Council specifically asked Brown to come up with some possible ways to charge people who use the tap.
The current water tap is beside the BOCC, but council voted to cut off the tap due to some safety concerns with its location.
