The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities will be bringing their annual Northeastern Municipal Conference to Parry Sound this spring.
Running between May 9th and 11th next year, the conference will be run in partnership with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs.
FONOM is a strong voice for member communities like Parry Sound.
One of the current issues the organization is dealing with is the regulation of marijuana once it’s legalized.
FONOM believes that a long-term strategy must be developed giving municipalities the resources needed to cope with the changes and responsibilities the legalized drug will bring.
