A new clinic at Sudbury’s Health Sciences North, could be a life-saver for the northern Ontario community.
The Valve-Structural Heart Clinic at HSN is vital resource that reduces the need for critically ill heart patients to be transported to Southern Ontario.
Intervention Cardiologist, Dr. Sami Alnasser says the clinic is a vital resource for both patients and doctors.
In November, Dr. Alnasser performed the hospital’s first PFO closure, a minimally invasive procedure to close a large hole in a patient’s heart.
Dr. Alnasser also stresses that having such facilities close at hand are vital to a patient’s survival.
