WATER MAIN DELAYS FOR EMILY STREET IN PARRY SOUND

Christmas cheer may come late for Emily Street residents.

At Parry Sound Town Council on Tuesday, Director of Public Works Peter Brown, responding to a question by Councillor Jim Marshall, said residents probably won’t get regular water service until after Boxing Day.

Emily Street is currently serviced by temporary waterlines until the regular water main is replaced

Brown said a pressure test of the new water main failed last weekend.

The water main passed a new test on Tuesday but won’t be ready for use until after Christmas.

Brown says he expects the street to be fully open by the end of the year.
