Parry Sound’s Downtown Beautification Committee proposes a greener streetscape for James St.
Presented by committee member Brenda Ryan to town council on Tuesday night, part of the plan calls for removing the brick pillars and iron gates at the entrance of the James Street parking lot.
Downtown Business Association Executive Director Susan Hyrcyna says the plan will make much better use of the space.
The $30, 000 project targets James St. between Seguin and Mary and is to be funded by the town of Parry Sound.
The plan also calls for improved planters and more greenery for the street.
