New numbers from Operation Safe Trucking show that a need still exists to search out distracted truckers.
The province-wide safety blitz that ran between December 11th and 15th, targeted unsafe and potentially dangerous commercial truck drivers.
West Parry Sound OPP Constable Kyle Ney says the focus remains on keeping the region’s highways safe.
During the blitz, West Parry Sound OPP clocked a total of 16 hours patrolling commercials vehicles. As well, six hours was spent inspecting 11 trucks that were stopped.
A total of 5 charges were laid.
