Canadore College in Parry Sound is presenting safeTALK, suicide alertness training for local residents.
College Administrator Peter Istvan says the program is designed for anyone who might come in contact with a person with thoughts of suicide.
Cost of the program including the trainer, books, and materials is covered by funding from several anonymous donors in the Parry Sound area.
Istvan says the only admission fee is a donation.
While the program targets everyone in the community, Istvan says health care providers might benefit as well.
The three-hour training program will be offered at Canadore College’s Parry Sound Campus on February 6th, and February 13th.
The first session on January 30th is full.
Participants must register and be at least 15 years old.
