$250,000 CRUISE SHIP INDUSTRY GRANT INCLUDES PARRY SOUND

A group of Ontario port cities now has funding to develop their cruise ship industries.

Cruise Ship Industry Group, which includes Parry Sound, was granted $250,000 at the end 2017 by the Ontario Ministry of Tourism and Culture.

The grant will be used to support the Ontario’s Great Lakes cruising industry as well as develop a business plan for its success.

Parry Sound Mayor Jamie McGarvey says he’s excited to be working with other Ontario ports of call in developing an infrastructure that will continue to grow and support the cruise ship industry.

Other cities include Toronto, Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay, Midland, Kingston, North East Manitoulin (Little Current), and Windsor.
