Parry Sound Town Council moves forward with the municipal budget for 2018.
Both the capital and operating budgets were approved at council’s special meeting on Tuesday, January 9th.
The new budget will bring an average tax rate increase of 2.1 percent or about $85 for the average household.
Town of Parry Sound CAO Rob Mens says that rate actually falls below guidelines set by council in 2016.

The average condominium owner will pay about S144 more in taxes.
Mens says there may additional tax savings when the town receives its educational tax rates from the province.
