INFLUENZA B OUTBREAK AT HSN RAMSEY LAKE HEALTH CENTRE IN SUDBURY

Health Sciences North is reporting that a flu outbreak at the hospital is being closely monitored.

The influenza B outbreak is affecting the third floor Intensive Rehabilitation Unit of the South Tower of the Ramsey Lake Health Centre in Sudbury.

The hospital is saying a number of measures are being taken to deal with the outbreak.

Precautions including the isolation of infected patients, strict hand hygiene, and increased laboratory testing are currently being exercised.

Residents of the Parry Sound region are advised there are no visitor restrictions at this time however must check in with nursing staff at the unit.

As well, visitors must follow all safety precautions imposed by the hospital.
