Parry Sound households will see an even lower tax rate increase than previously announced.
After town council approved the 2018 municipal budget, it announced that taxpayers would see an average tax rate increase of 2.1 percent.
At Tuesday’s town council meeting, Parry Sound CAO Rob Mens reported that with new assessment figures that increase would now be 1.98 percent.
That means an increase of $80 for the average household compared to $84 announced last week.

For condominium owners that means an increase of $83.
The new tax rate increase falls below the 3.5 percent lower limit council set in 2016.
