OPP Festive RIDE may be over but police remain on the lookout for impaired drivers.
With the weekend here, Northeast Region OPP Constable Carlo Berardi reminds you that you can still be charged with impaired driving even though your blood-alcohol level is below the legal limit.
New Festive RIDE figures released by Northeast Region OPP show an increased police presence on area roads.
2,368 spot checks were conducted during the holidays this year with a total of 51 charges laid. That’s compared to 1440 spot checks and 55 charges for the same period last year.
That increased presence is also on snowmobile trails and frozen waterways.
