A failed motion puts approval of Seguin Township’s proposed 2018 budget on hold.
Seguin Town Council on Monday night failed to pass a motion that would have approved the town’s operating and capital budgets in principle.
The final draft of the budget includes a drop in the municipal tax rate and represents an average tax increase of 0.63 percent or $15 on a $452,000 home.
Council’s vote on the budget was split, resulting in the failed motion.
Councillor Susan Adams was absent from the meeting.
