Cutting edge technology at Canadore College post production facility

Post Production at Canadore is set to impact Parry Sound’s television and film industry.

The $2.2 million facility at Canadore’s College Drive Campus in North Bay, opened last week and offers the latest in post-production technology for both television and film.

Associate Dean of Media, Design, and Dramatic Arts Yura Monestime says the Dolby Atmos mix stage offers cutting edge technology allowing entire projects to be shot, edited, and mixed in Northern Ontario.

In addition to the facility, Canadore is offering a Post Production program fully immersing students in the real world environment of media production.

Parry Sound’s location qualifies it for grants through Ontario’s Heritage Fund, making it a popular choice for film and television producers.

I was born and raised in the former Borough of East York (now part of Toronto), a friendly community with small-town roots. After attending Ryerson’s Electrical Technology program in Toronto, I became involved in the family’s retail electronics business, eventually taking it over. During that time, I became involved in a number of community groups including the East York Community Centre Liaison Committee, and sitting on the board of the Toronto Police 54 Division liaison committee, as well as chairing the Pape Village Business Improvement Area. In 2007, I decided to pursue a career in radio broadcasting, enrolling in Humber College’s radio broadcasting program. After working at a number of stations in both Ontario and Alberta, I am excited to work alongside with the great team at 103.3 Moose FM in beautiful Parry Sound.
