After serving one term, Parry Sound councillor Jim Marshall will not seek re-election. During his term on council, Marshall says it’s been tough juggling his business and serving on council:

He says he also enjoys travelling with his wife during winter, and he would not want to miss meetings, as winter is busy for council. Looking back on the past four years, Marshall says he’s happy to see council taking action on affordable housing and working on ageing roads and infrastructure. He says it’s a better place now than it was four years ago.

The nomination period ends on Friday. Marshall says if you’re thinking of running for council, don’t do it for the money:

Marshall will serve until the official end of his term in November.
