Parry Sound 33 – Day 27 Fire Report

The Parry Sound 33 fire remains stable.

Over the weekend there was no growth on the 11,362-hectare fire.

Crews were on suppression duties working on the interior of the fire including the use of helicopter buckets, pump, and hose along with chainsaw and hand tools from firefighters.

Also being used is with infrared scanning technology to help crews track and extinguish hot spots.

Also, good news on the provincial park front as both French River and Grundy Lake parks opened for normal operation, though under severe fire ban restrictions. This includes no open flame and cooking with controlled element burners such as propane.
