The Parry Sound Friendship Centre is inviting the public to the Miigwansag Child Care Centre Open House.
The Miigwansag Child Care Centre will operate under The Parry Sound Friendship Centre.
“This being an Indigenous child care centre, we see this opportunity to begin cultural teachings with young ones at a young age. We talk about our culture and most importantly, our language. I think we need to start with little ones because that’s where healing is going to begin at that level,” said Delores McKay, Executive Director of the Parry Sound Friendship Centre.
The evening will include several speakers and presenters, a tour, crafts and activities for children, food and a ribbon cutting.
The event will take place on November 29th from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Miigwansag Child Care Centre located at The Hub on 86 Gibson Street.
