Parry Sound’s Town Clerk is retiring.
Jackie Boggs announced her retirement at the council meeting on Tuesday.
Boggs says she began her work with the Town of Parry Sound in 2009 as a Deputy Clerk, and in 2015 she was promoted to Town Clerk. She has conducted over 200 council meetings since then.
“I was shocked by that number,” she said while laughing.
Boggs says she and her husband have purchased a boat and look forward to spending a lot of time on Georgian Bay.

“We have a really great staff here and I enjoyed working with the public and area clerks, I think I may miss that the most,” she said.
Former Deputy Clerk, Rebecca Johnson, will assume the Town Clerk position on February 1st.
