The West Parry Sound OPP issued a number of charges to a man on his way into town.
Shortly after 2:00am on Friday, The OPP responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Highway 400 in Parry Sound.
Police say they located the driver on Highway 124 and determined that the driver had been drinking.
A 27-year-old man from Shawanaga First Nations was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired, driving with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in his blood, driving with no license, and driving with cannabis readily available.
The man was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Parry Sound Court on January 3rd. His license was suspended for 90 days and the car he was driving was impounded for seven.
The OPP is reminding people that there is no safe amount of drug or alcohol consumption while driving. Anyone who suspects that a driver may be impaired is urged to call police by dialling 911 right away.
