Local Salvation Army campaign a success despite national struggle

The Salvation Army is thanking the Parry Sound area for its support.

The Kettle Campaign has ended and although the organization fell short of its national goal, things were better locally.

Earlier this month the national Salvation Army reported that is was $5.3 million behind its $21-million fundraising goal.

Lieutenant Scott Allen of the local Salvation Army says that a final number will be tallied in the coming weeks though he estimates that the funds raised for the district are between $37,000 and $40,000.
