The municipality of Whitestone is asking residents whether they would like to opt-in or out of cannabis retail sales.
The Cannabis License Act has impacted municipalities, as Council must pass a resolution by January 22nd on whether to permit a cannabis store in its jurisdiction.
Municipalities are able to opt in at a later date though, once a municipality does choose to opt-in, the decision is final and may not be reversed.
