Town of Parry Sound responds to O’Gram election allegations

The Town has responded to the allegations against the municipal election electronic voting results that were made by Chris O’Gram.

On Monday, the former mayoral candidate was in court hoping to discuss his concerns about electronic voting accuracy though was not on the docket. He was asked by Justice Edward J. Koke to complete the necessary paperwork in order to proceed.

In his original complaint, O’Gram said that he was unable to review Intelivote’s electronic voting results because they are no longer available and wants another municipal election to be held where a paper ballot is an option.

Clayton Harris, Town CAO says that the case is still in its infancy.

“We’re looking forward to seeing the factum and the affidavit that Mr O’Gram has to provide the courts with. That gives us a chance to respond to that material in a public way and hopefully address any concerns that he has in a public forum to make sure that the public at large has confidence in not only the last municipal election but municipal elections going forward,” Harris said.

Harris says he has confidence in the most recent election results.

O’Gram says he will have a decision in place about how he will proceed in the coming weeks.
