Bowes Street Timmies’ staff donate $1,000 in tips to local food bank

The staff at Tim Horton’s in Parry Sound are serving up more than just coffee.

Last week, staff members from the Bowes Street location dropped off a cheque for $1,000 at the Harvest Share Food Bank in Parry Sound. The money came from tips collected over the entire year according to staff. Harvest Share officials say the donation came at the right time as this time of year tends to be when local residents are the most in need of a helping hand.

And you can help give back during this extra time of need as well. Walmart has partnered with Harvest Share to donate funds up until March 13th. All you have to do is round up to the nearest dollar on your bill at the checkout and the extra will be donated to the food bank. Find more details here.
