Four families are being credited with helping Parry Sound secure some needed medical equipment.
The West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation reports the four long-time cottaging families from Lake Joseph, Pointe Au Baril, Horseshoe Lake and Shawanaga Lake helped secure the funds necessary to purchase a new CT scanner. The equipment, which comes with a $1.4 million price tag, will be installed at the hospital in December.
The old scanner was purchased back in 2005 through donations as well. Â Hospital officials say the current model has completed over 40,000 scans during its lifespan.
