R.I.D.E check leads to impaired driving charge

A McKellar man is facing an impaired driving charge after a R.I.D.E. stop in Parry Sound.

The OPP says just before 1:00am Saturday a vehicle that was weaving and jerking stopped at the check on William Street.  The officer spoke to the driver and determined that he had been drinking. The 42-year-old was arrested and charged with “Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).”

The driver was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on May 2nd. The vehicle he was driving was impounded for seven days in addition to the charge.
