UPDATE: Rainfall warning ended

UPDATE: The rainfall warning has come to an end.

Get ready for some of the wet stuff.

A rainfall warning is in effect for the Parry Sound, Rosseau, and Killbear Park areas. Environment Canada says the ground is already near saturation and still partially frozen in parts and can’t absorb much more rain.

It’s expected to start falling tonight and last into Thursday. Between 30 and 50 mm of rain could fall with the heaviest downpours tomorrow. The rain will taper off into scattered showers on Friday.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Avoid driving through water on roads. Even shallow, fast-moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle or a person away. Keep children and pets away from creeks and river banks.
