PARRY SOUND, ON-The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is advising people to be mindful of their health if they attended the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) conference after a man tested positive for the Coronavirus.Â
The conference was held between March 1st and 4th in Toronto and the health unit said that if you display any symptoms of fever, cough and have difficulty breathing, you need to separate yourself from others and call the Health Unit at 1-800-563-2808 immediately.
If you are experiencing severe difficulty when breathing, call 911 and mention your travel history, your attendance at the conference and your symptoms.
The recommendations are the same if you in the last 14 days have been to a Coronavirus infected area or have been in close contact with a confirmed or probable case of the virus.Â
It was confirmed by the health unit that the risk to individuals for the Coronavirus in the unit’s district remains low.
The health unit said that the best way you can protect yourself is through simple hygiene practices like regular handwashing or using alcohol-based sanitizers, not touching your face, covering up when you cough or sneeze, and staying home if you are sick.
