PARRY SOUND, ON-In order to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Near North District School Board (NNDSB) has closed all of its school playgrounds and amenities.
The NNDSB said that this closure will be in effect until further notice. While the board realizes how its playgrounds are important parts of the community, they are following the advice of the government to ensure physical distancing.
The affected schools include Britt Public School, Evergreen Heights Education Centre, Humphrey Public School, Land of Lakes, Mactier Public School, Magnetawan Public School, McDougall Public School, Nobel Public School, Parry Sound Public School, South River Public School, Sundridge Centennial Public School, Whitestone Lake Public School, Almaguin Highlands Secondary School, and Parry Sound High and Intermediate School.
