OPP Preach Holistic Approach For Crime Prevention Week

The West Parry Sound OPP is emphasizing community safety in light of Crime Prevention Week.

This year’s provincial theme, “Serving Ontario, Protecting Communities”, enables police to promote the benefits of a holistic approach in dealing with local crime and issues related to the community’s well-being.

The OPP is also reminding the public of some of the community safety programs that assist in keeping our communities safe.

This includes SafeGuard Ontario and Lock It or Lose It.

Many detachments in the province offer different programs that are tailor-made for local communities.

In West Parry Sound’s case, police utilize social media to showcase some crime prevention tips and ongoing investigations using the OPP TwitterOPP Facebook and local media.

Police say if you see any suspicious activity – you should contact your local authorities.

For more information on Crime Prevention Week activities, contact your local OPP detachment.
