Results from West Parry Sound OPP’s Festive RIDE campaign

The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) released the results of its annual Festive RIDE campaign. 

The campaign, which ran from November 26th to January 3rd, shows six motorists were charged with impaired driving, five of which registered a Blood Alcohol Concentration between 0.05 and 0.08 and were issued an immediate Warn Range Suspension, roadside. 

According to the release, the campaign saw 104 RIDE STOP events conducted by OPP officers throughout the area.

In addition, the OPP is reminding drivers that officers continue to conduct Mandatory Alcohol Screening and that drivers have to comply with a demand for roadside breath testing. As well as RIDE STOPS that are held throughout the year on roads, trails and waterways.
