Nine new cases, four more recoveries added by NBPS Health Unit

Parry Sound and Nipissing saw nine new cases of COVID-19 and four more recoveries added on Wednesday.

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit reported seven cases in Nipissing, and two in Parry Sound, bringing the region’s new total for active COVID-19 cases to 30.

According to the health unit, the last day saw 279 tests done in the region. 

Of the new cases, eight contracted the virus through close contact, and one was through community transmission. 

Four cases were individuals 19 years or younger, four were between the age of 60 and 79, and one was between the ages of 40 and 59.
