UPDATE JANUARY 14TH > Lakeland LTC Home COVID outbreak declared over on January 14th.
The Lakeland Long Term Care (LTC) home declared a COVID-19 Outbreak Thursday morning.
This comes as the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit confirmed that one staff member at Lakeland LTC tested positive for COVID-19.
In accordance with the province’s health guidelines, that officially places the LTC home in outbreak status.
The staff member who tested positive is currently in isolation and high-risk contacts have been contacted by the Health Unit and are self-isolating.
In a release, Lakeland LTC confirmed that no residents are in isolation or have shown symptoms of COVID-19.
The facility will remain open for essential visitors, and Lakeland is encouraging virtual visits or calls during the outbreak period.
