A new Regional Economic Development Officer (EDO) was announced for West Parry Sound District.
The West Parry Sound Economic Development Collaborative (WPSEDC) appointed James Cox to the position on Thursday.
According to a WPSEDC media release, Cox brings over ten years of experience in municipal government, eight of them in economic development.
He led the economic development departments at the Municipality of Leamington and the Town of Goderich and delivered professional development workshops on municipal governance throughout Ontario.
Cox will be replacing his predecessor Glen Barnden who was the Regional EDO for the past three and a half years.
The WPSEDC, funded by a three-year commitment by FedNor, is a partnership between the seven area municipalities in West Parry Sound District, comprised of
- the Township of The Archipelago,
- the Township of Carling,
- the Municipality of McDougall,
- the Township of McKellar,
- the Town of Parry Sound,
- the Township of Seguin,
- and the Municipality of Whitestone.
