Parry Sound officially designated Saturday, February 6th as International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).
Tuesday evening saw the Town Council carry the motion for the second year in a row.
Observed worldwide, International Day of Zero Tolerance for FGM provides a chance to honour those women, girls, boys and men who are actively working towards an end to the harmful practice which is recognized by the United Nations as abuse of fundamental human rights.
